The owner, agent or occupant of a property shall be responsible for Inspection, Maintenance and Recharging of fire extinguishers.

  • Inspections

    In accordance with NFPA 10, fire extinguishers shall be inspected at intervals not exceeding 31 days. Inspection of fire extinguishers shall include a check of at least the following items;

    1. Location in designated place
    2. No obstruction to access or visibility
    3. Pressure gauge reading or indicator in the operable range or position
    4. Fullness determined by weighing or hefting
    5. Condition of tires, wheels, carriage, hose and nozzle for wheeled extinguishers
    6. Indicator for non-rechargeable extinguishers using push-to-test pressure indicators
  • Maintenance and recharging

    Persons performing maintenance and recharging of fire extinguishers shall be certified. Our fire extinguisher technicians are certified by the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians OF BC (ASTTBC)

    At required intervals we provide a thorough examination of the basic elements of the fire extinguisher, including; mechanical parts, extinguishing agent, expelling means and physical condition.

    Recharging of fire extinguishers is completed at our Abbotsford facility where the contents are replaced with new product and maintenance procedures are performed. A new inspection tag is attached before the fire extinguisher is returned to you.
