Fire Suppression Systems

Operating similarly to fire sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems consist of fire suppression containers which are placed in designated areas and activated either by the fire alarm panel or a pull station.

Often used in restaurants above cooking appliances, for high-end industrial applications in large mechanical rooms, or in automotive shops for spray booths, these are independent systems that help preserve equipment in emergency situations. We offer different types of suppression systems depending on your need and the electrical components you’re working with.

  • Pre-engineered systems

Dry chemical fire suppression systems use dry chemical compounds that suppress fire and provide efficient coverage. Dry chemical agents come in ABC or BC. In applications where a dedicated water supply is not available, dry chemical systems from Ansul, Pyrochem, Tyco, Chemguard are an easy, affordable alternative to water and some other agents.

A wet agent system is an effective way for suppressing commercial cooking fires before major damage occurs. The wet chemical agent reacts quickly with the cooking media (fats or oils) to produce a foam blanket covering the surface. This reaction, combined with the cooling effect of the wet chemical agent, also reduces the possibility of fire re-flash.

  • Engineered systems

Engineered Fire Suppression Systems are design specific and most commonly used for larger installations where the system is designed for a particular application. Examples include large marine and land vehicle applications, server rooms, public and private buildings, industrial paint lines, dip tanks and electrical switch rooms. Engineered systems use a number of gaseous or solid agents including CO2, FM200, Novek, Inergen.

  • Aerosol

Stat-X® fire suppression is an advanced aerosol technology that protects enclosed special hazards. Aerosols are an effective new alternative to traditional special hazard fire protection. Stat-X fire suppression is currently used worldwide in many critical applications. Stat-X aerosol fire suppression needs be considered when evaluating the use of halon substitutes, CO2, inert gas, dry chemical, or water mist. Stat-X fire suppression is an approved halon replacement and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) alternative.
